Welcome Back

Dear Grade 3 Families,

My name is Josie Romeo. I have an almost 5-year-old daughter named Lennon (I call her Lenni). I love to share silly stories with the class about all she gets up to. I am back to work full time after a few years of parental leave and am excited to get to know all the kids!

This will be my 15th year teaching. I started my career in Cranbrook (I was a TOC from K-12 and Music specialist) and from there taught in Canal Flats (Gr 6/7 and K-7 music). This will be my 11th year at Marysville School and I truly love being here. I have worked in both 2nd and 3rd grade within the school as well as music here and there.

I love to be creative. I enjoy music (singing and piano), knitting, photography, cooking and embroidery. I also love Motorsports. I love to spend time in the backcountry in my side-by-side, quad and truck. I also love classic cars and really enjoy going to car shows (hoping to get back to those next year once it is safe to do so). I love camping, fishing and being on the water. We are so lucky to live in this beautiful area of the world.

Please feel free to contact me via email or by phone at the school. Meetings will look different this year and I will keep you updated as we go.

We will be having more outdoor learning time in Grade 3. This means that every day it would be great for students to be equipped with appropriate outdoor clothing so we can focus on learning and having fun in what nature has to offer.

If you are willing to share a talent/skill and would like to come in and share it with the class we would love to have you! Some of our favorite days are when parents come in and share their learning with us. After all, you never stop learning!

Handle with Care

If ever your student has a tough night, a rough weekend or just is in need of extra attention and love please let me know. It can be as simple as a note in the planner saying, “handle with care” so that I know that your little one needs the extra attention.

Thanks again! Can’t wait to meet you all,

Ms. Romeo
