Remembrance Day Assembly

A little note to let you know our assembly will be happening on Thursday November 7th at 10:10
Our class will be performing Highway of Heroes as well as leading Oh Canada and some students will be EMCEE’ing.

Look at Me!

Here's a couple of great creations from choice time.

Classroom Updates

Today we started our Problem of the Week home math practice.
Each student has a blue duotang with a strategies sheet, a hundreds chart and a math word problem in it. The students have 1 week (Wednesday to Wednesday) to try the word problem at home with parent/guardian support. Correct or not, each student earns a ticket for trying the problem, and returning it by the following Wednesday. A new problem will come home in their folder every week! I will give help to those who need it at school during math time if needed.

We are still looking for Volunteers for Pumpkin carving if anyone is available!

Here is the link for the Trews song “Highway of Heroes” for home practice for the Remembrance Day assembly!

McGinty Lake

We had a great trip to McGinty lake this morning. Thank you to Kim, Wildsight and the Meadowbrook association. We were so impressed with all the beautiful new lakeside facilities!
We learned about biodiversity and the local environment. We also talked about ecosystems, micro and macro invertebrates as well. Ask us why we think biodiversity is important!

Patterning with Ms. Anna

"We are learning about increasing and decreasing patterns, these are some beautiful examples of growing patterns."
-Miss Anna

Butte with Ms. Anna and Ms. Shore

We had a lovely walk up and enjoyed the beautiful views of the Rockies and the Purcells. We acknowledged the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa and imagined what life was like 10,000 years ago. We look forward to more visits!
